Nicola Wright, Communications Professional

Origins

We’ve all come from somewhere to a passion for communications.
Over 20 years I’ve gained experience  delivering purposeful
communication – promoting worthwhile issues, building
understanding and  changing behaviour.

Originally Tasmanian, I’ve also worked, lived, volunteered and studied
extensively in Queensland  and Internationally.

Highly qualified, high level practitioner

My broad experience of communications practices comes from a depth
and diversity of communications qualifications, training, practical experience
and understanding.

I’ve worked at senior, executive levels and as a consultant, developing
and managing corporate, program and project communication strategies,
conducting extension, training and education …and creating effective
communications tactics and products to deliver measurable results in
Australian, State and Local Government, Not-for-Profit and Overseas Aid settings.

Change focussed

My passion for sustainability, community empowerment and social justice,
has driven me as a catalyst for change.

I’ve designed and delivered citizen science, participative engagement and education campaigns which support government policy, systems renewal and programs of environmental sustainability and social change.

I’m scientifically literate and numerate.
I understand the issues and language of  social justice and inclusion.

I have ‘practitioner insight’ into the implications of day-to-day management of
the social boundary between an organisation or project, and its reputational
and operational performance with stakeholders.

Experience working  in the field  with the end users of corporate communications using 2-way engagement, education and training, gives me real world  understanding of  message reach and its capacity to alter perception and build understanding.

Performance is ultimately measured in operational delivery, reputation
and position.

I readily and rapidly research and assimilate organisational, systems and project information.

As a strategic engagement planner I can identify where ‘the rubber hits the road’ – devising effective communications approaches with measurable outcomes which translate into corporate operational results, reputation and position.

‘engage, ADAPT, and sustain’.
